Ms. Le Thi Thoa is Project Director of the Clean, Affordable and Secure Energy for Southeast Asia (CASE) project in Viet Nam. She previously served as Technical Team Leader for the Commercial and Industrial Rooftop Solar (CIRTS) project and the Climate Protection through Sustainable Bioenergy Market in Viet Nam (BEM) project.
With more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector, Ms. Thoa has extensive expertise in international development and renewable energy. She has worked for many years on the development and refinement of policies and regulatory frameworks, providing advisory and technical support for renewable energy development programmes and projects in Viet Nam. Throughout her career, she has contributed to fostering an enabling policy environment and supporting the implementation of sustainable renewable energy initiatives that are aligned with Viet Nam’s development context.
Prior to joining GIZ, Ms. Thoa worked with organisations including the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the ADB Bioenergy Project, the USAID Low Emission Energy Development project, and Pacific Corporation.
She holds a PhD in Economic Management and a Master’s degree in Energy Economics.
